Sit back and enjoy the view as the coach winds its way through steep mountains and deep gorges to reach the old Byzantine capital of Mystras, Perched high on a hillside overlooking the plains of Sparta. Make your way down the ancient lanes from the castle, it´s ever watchful eye over the city, passing priests houses, a palace and a monastry as you go. Stop for a rest at the pretty mountain village of Artenisia to taste the local delicacy of creamy yoghourt, sweet honey and nuts whilst drinking in the views of a tree lined ravine.
